A 340 square-metre showroom floor that had not been stripped in four years. The sealant had broken down in the traffic lanes, so the vinyl underneath was holding dirt that no amount of mopping would lift.

We stripped the old sealant back to bare vinyl, neutralised the floor, then laid four fresh coats with drying time between each. The work ran overnight so the showroom opened as normal.

What made it difficult

Two of the display units could not be moved, so the floor around them had to be cut in by hand. That is slower than it sounds — roughly an hour per unit to get an edge that does not show.

The result

A uniform finish across the whole floor and a maintenance plan that keeps it that way: daily dust-mopping, weekly damp-mopping, and a buff every quarter.
